This coffee comes from the Handege Coffee Factory in Kiambu, Kenya. With an annual production of only 150 metric tonnes, Handege is a relatively small coffee mill. SL34 & SL28 cherries are pulped, fermented and washed before being sun-dried on African drying beds, with the dry parchment taken to the dry mill for hulling and grading. The name ‘Handege’ comes from the Swahili word ‘Ndege’ meaning aeroplane.
