Grown at 1795 - 1900 MASL in red-brown clay soil, the ripe coffee cherries from various local farmers are brought to Kochere Washing Station. These cherries are then de-pulped and washed using local spring water. Kochere Washing Station is located in the village of Kore, which is part of the Kochere Distric. Kochere is southwest of the town of Yirgacheffe. Coffee trees from the southwestern Gedeo Zone of Yirgacheffe are made to, and have been thriving in the forests of Ethiopia for centuries.
